CAMA Elections

Elections for the 2011-2012 CAMA board will be held 2/22 through 2/28. The Nomination Committee recommends the

following candidates:

President-Elect (one-year term as president-elect and one to follow as president)
Brett McCoy | Strategic Planner | MyJive

Brett works with clients in a variety of industries and in all phases of their brand’s life cycle with integrated media
channels. Day-to-day activities include research, strategic planning, IA + UX, and account direction. As VP of Programming
in the past, Brett identified and recruited engaging speakers. As President-Elect he will help lead the Chapter in developing
an Advisory Board made up of executive marketers from across the region.

VP, Secretary (1-year term)
Mary Henderson | Environmental Marketing Manager | Lowe’s Companies, Inc

Currently, Mary concentrates on consumer marketing solutions for the growing market of efficient and environmentally friendly products. Prior to working with Lowe’s, Mary was a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton working on several communication, outreach and event planning projects with the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Defense, and United States Postal Service. With a Masters degree in Industrial Design from North Carolina State University, Mary also has a unique perspective of full lifecycle product design taking into account marketability and brand development.

VP, Finance (1-year term)
Dennis Poteat | Marketing Communications Manager | Blum, Inc.

Dennis directs the B2B advertising, PR and print media for Blum's U.S. headquarters. A 20-year marketing veteran, Dennis offers a wide variety of planning, workflow and budgeting experience.

VP, Membership (1-year term)
Caroline Potter | Manager, Customer Engagement and Strategic Communications | Maersk Line

With nearly 20 years experience marketing products and services in the healthcare and transportation industries, Caroline is currently working on projects that focus on re-connecting customers and employees to create an experience both enjoy.
Working with the membership committee, Caroline will help potential and existing members find the benefits available to them through AMA.

VP, Programming (1-year term)
Anna Vordermark

Anna is a proven marketing leader with over 10 years of business-to-business healthcare experience in hospitals, group physician practices, clinical drug research, and medical device manufacturing. Most recently, Anna’s put her management
experience to work for CAMA by serving as VP, Event Management and is committed to working in the coming year to bring exciting educational opportunities to marketers in the Charlotte region.

VP, Event Management (1-year term)
Deanna Duke | Co-Owner and VP, Marketing & Client Development | Sign Innovations

Deanna served as Treasurer for the Charlotte AMA from 2007-2008. As a previous Board member, Dee is familiar with the Board's processes and will be able to hit the ground running to make immediate contributions in her new position as
VP, Event Management. As a Marketing Manager for several large corporations, she has had direct experience organizing all aspects of many large-scale events and trade shows, including international events such as the Paris Air Show. She is currently co-owner and leads the marketing and client development efforts for Sign Innovations.

VP, Sponsorship (2-year term)
Wes Ninh Nguyen | Manager of Sales Operations | Addison Whitney

As head of operations for his company, Wes is responsible for merging the needs of the sales team with the converging goals of the marketing group. Wes brings the experience and training needed to the VP of Sponsorships role to showcase how potential sponsors will benefit by associating with the Charlotte AMA.

VP, Communications (2-year term)
Brenda Matthews| Radio Personality/DJ | Clear Channel

Brenda has led a successful career in radio as an Air Personality (DJ) in Orlando, FL while also fine-tuning her media relations, public relations and copywriting skills. Recently relocating to Charlotte, Brenda is enthusiastic to put her communications experience to work by assisting CAMA in managing its vibrant Communications program.

VP, PR and Community Relations (1-year term)
Mi Li | Marketing Manager | American City Business Journals

Mi Li is currently responsible for online audience development and enterprise training to cross-functional and leadership staffs on SEO, Social Media and Email Marketing. She has served on the CAMA Communications Committee since 2009 writing blogs. As VP, Public Relations & Community Relations, she will strive to increase CAMA’s awareness in the Greater Charlotte area and to help grow membership through integrated campaigns such as marketing emails, social media, community outreach and media relations.

Member to the board who has already been elected:

President (1-year term)
Christine Eubanks | VP, Management Supervisor | Luquire George Andrews

With 20 years of marketing experience, Christine leads brand development, strategic planning and integrated communications campaigns for several of LGA’s largest accounts. An active CAMA member since joining in 2006, Christine established the Chapter’s Orientation program to introduce new and prospective members to the Chapter and help current members to discover how to get the most out of their membership. She has served in various board positions including VP, Membership.

Election schedule:

2/9 (Wednesday): Nominating Committee present nominees to the entire membership via email. Open nominations

to members for consideration by the nominating committee

2/9 (Wednesday): Announce the slate of candidates at the monthly event. Nominations are open for consideration

by the nominating committee

2/21 (Monday): Close nominations. Any petitions must have been received prior to midnight Sunday 2/20

2/22 (Tuesday): Deliver ballots via email

2/28 (Tuesday): Election closed

3/1 (Monday): Report results to AMA-Internal Headquarters

Results will be included in a March newsletter, posted to the charlotteama.com website, and announced at our

March event.

Open nominations and petitions:

Eligible members may present a candidate for the ballot, on or prior to 2/20/2011, for any open position. The nominating committee will determine whether or not to add that individual to the ballot.

To petition the committee to add a candidate to the ballot the petition must be submitted to a member of the nominating committee, in writing, on or prior to 2/20/2011. The petition must include a statement from the candidate indicating his/her ability and willingness to serve if elected and must be signed by a minimum of 10 current chapter members eligible to vote. If those requirements have been fulfilled and the candidate is willing and able to serve then the candidate petitioned for must be included on the ballot.
